Ads on Personal Blogs - I Just Dont Get It?
Why do folks insist on garbaging up there personal blogs with things like google ads?
No offense meant towards anyone but I just don't get it? Not only does it look tacky to me but who actually clicks on those ads anyway while reading someones blog. and even if a few readers did they surely don't create much if any revenue.
So please clue me in here guys, besides I believe it only benefits google and not the reader or the blogger?

I got your back, Wiz. No, I don't get it either. Who DOES click on those ads anyway?

Enough people over on my site to (pick your choice) either:
- Buy me a couple bags of groceries
- Provide me with a free tank of gas
- Pick up a case of decent wine
- Give my girlfriend a nice bouquet of flowers
Every darn month. For free. All I do is write. If done correctly they should blend in with the rest of the site.
I do guess it's all about site traffic though. Gotta have visitors to get revenue.
Lol your capcha for this post is 420.

Probably because they want to/hope to earn some money from it?
I don't have a large click rate on my sites where I use Google Adsense, but it gives me about an extra $100/year. Not much, but it pays for i.e. for my domain names.
Also I believe many bloggers doesn't have a job but are still in school, with no or very little income. Why not earn something extra on their blog if they can. If no one reads their blog, they get no money of course.
I don't like a lot of ads on web pages myself. Especially if they blink or pop up or pop under. I hate that, and usually leave the web page right away. But in my opinion, Google ads can be very non-intrusive and melt in with the other content.
Maybe I am wrong, but I don't mind an extra dollar here and there.
